From January 2010,  I will be hosting weekly drop-in hoop dance classes in Ravenscourt Park, London.

New to Hoop-Dance?

The classes will be primarily aimed at beginners: from those who have  never picked up a hoop before to those that need more in-depth instruction on the basics.

I would say that if you are struggling with at least  2 of the moves below, then this class is for you!

Waist / hips / legs / chest / neck / basic hand (horizontal and vertical) hooping / moving the hoop between these body parts.

Intermediates

Feeling confident with all of the above? Well, you are still welcome to come along and practice! The focus will be on 'flow': putting the moves together so that YOU create your own routine!

Although you will have greater autonomy in what moves you learn, you will be free to swap tips and techniques with each other. I will be dropping by in between to offer some tips of my own - and also to learn whatever you may have to offer me! ;o)

But no matter what level you think you are, I would encourage everyone to drop that hoop (because it's gonna happen!) and just have fun with it!

What to Wear

  • Clothes that allow you to move around freely

Please note that baggy or slippy clothing (e.g. silk, shiny lycra) will make the hoop harder to control, so you are advised not to wear these.

About Me

  • Successful completion of BodyHoops L.1&2 and HoopGirl L.1 Teacher training programs.
  • First Aid Trained
  • Public & Product Liability Insured

I first started hooping back in Jan 2008. Initially self-taught, I eventually progressed to informal class based learning. Since graduating from the above teacher training courses, I have been teaching work colleagues the joys of hooping since Jan 2009.

Part of the London Hula Hoopers Facebook Network you can often find me practicing in a London park on most sunny days, entertaining at club nights or spreading hoop joy on an unsuspecting public. ;o)
